My 1st mobile phone. SO ahead of the times!
I am a long-time crafter and lover of all things glittery, painty and papery. I have been creating with scissors and glue for as long as I can remember, thanks to family members that nurtured my creativity.
At a very small age, I was taught and encouraged to keep sentimental reminders from important events, and preserve those memories in scrapbooks. This was long before the invent of the modern sheet protector or 12×12 acid free paper. Nonetheless, I loved placing my drawings, trinkets and souvenirs in that big, kraft paper book, and then going back to look through all those pages of happy memories.
In high school, I took my first art class where I fell in love with every surface and media we learned about. I loved it so much that upon graduating high school, I enrolled in college where I would earn my degree in graphic arts in 1992. I was lucky enough to learn desktop publishing at the brand new computer lab at the college (boy, I’m really dating myself, aren’t I?)
The one second they actually got along!
Around that same time, I was blessed with the birth of my son, Trevor. Two years later, my daughter Kaelinn followed. Although they are now grown and on their own, they are still a great source of artistic inspiration for me.
In 1998, I met the love of my life, Marc, and in March of 2000, we were married. Although he sometimes struggles to understand why I need ten bottles of blue paint, he supports my arts and crafts, and encourages me as he loves me – unconditionally.
I currently work as a freelance graphic and web designer. In addition, I am also the crop coordinator for The Kipling House, and Co-coordinator of the Craft Closet Consignment Sale.
